Rose Marie (Murphy, Wolodka) Gaffney, age 62 of Halifax, passed away Jan. 31, 2014.
Born in Sydney, N.S., on Sept. 10, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Arthur James and Mary Agnes Murphy. Rose Marie was raised in Glace Bay with her adopted parents Arthur and Mary. Rose Marie used to surprise people with the number of languages she was fluent in – English, Ukrainian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Cantonese – and could understand numerous more. Rose Marie was a very loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed.
