Doreene May Sherman - 82, of Canard, Kings County, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Innerkip, Ontario, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Gladys Brown. Doreene was a full-time mother and homemaker who enjoyed baking, reading, watching birds, playing cards, Chinese checkers and spending time with her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Leao; two sons, Gary (Grace), Canard; Howard (Michele), Fall River; grandchildren, Andrea, Greg, Darian and Ben; step-grandchildren, Luke and Megan; great grandchildren, Cece and Wesley; a sister, Shirley; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Doreene was predeceased by sisters, Ethel, Madeline, Ruby, Jean, Caryl and Eileen; brothers, Clifford, Ted and Gordon. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. A private family funeral service was held 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Burial will take place at a later date in the Jaw Bone Corner Cemetery, Canard. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
