
Luke Simon
SIMON, LUKE STEPHEN - (1953 - 2014) - ELSIPOGTOG, NB - Luke Simon, 60, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 9, 2014. Born in Big Cove, he was the son of the late William John Simon Sr. and Sarah (Francis) Simon. Luke was an A.T.R. Officer and worked closely with the Assembly of First Nations Chiefs of New Brunswick. Luke was a well known artist, a painter, a sculptor and also served in the community as a counsellor. Luke will be sadly missed by his mother; Sarah Simon, two daughters; Kristella, Jessica and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by six sisters; Dolores, Brenda, Berni, Pamela, Colleen, Heather "Heidi", six brothers; Rubin, Marcel, Conrad, Byron, Adam, Jesse, many nieces, nephews and close friends. He was predeceased by five brothers; Jesse John, William John Jr., Roger, Benjamin, Lorne and one sister; Marsha.
Resting at the home of his mother; Sarah Simon at 11 Hill Street, Elsipogtog with visitation beginning on Tuesday at 5:00 pm until time of funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm, St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, Elsipogtog. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Donations in Luke's memory may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice and would be appreciated by the family.
