Thomson, Marjorie E. (Dove) nee Fitzpatrick, of Moncton, NB passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on February 10, 2014 in her 99th year. She was the eldest of the family of 14, born to Harry and Rebecca (Allen) Fitzpatrick. Born on July 3, 1914, she was the last surviving person to have been born on Jourimain Island, NB.
She is survived by her loving husband William Thomson of Moncton, NB, and her children; Noreen (Floyd) Toole, Myron (Margaret) Dove and their children Tanya, her husband Jimmy and their children Jacob and Jessica Davis and Sonya Dove and her husband Maurice Sankar. Madge (late Stewart) Wall and family, Late Reg (Brenda) , Late Donnie (Christina), Beth(Dennis) , Laura(Paul) and Tim (Pam) Wall, Josie (Neil) Nugent and family, Chris (Terri) and Terri (Brian) Hebert. Marjorie will also be missed by brother Maxwell Fitzpatrick (Barbara) and sisters Mary Sprague (late Stanley), Faye Johnson (late Norman), seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband and father of the children, Reginald Dove.
She will be remembered as being devoted to her extended family, interested in their well-being, delighting in their visits and showing off their pictures. A person of faith, she read her Bible daily. May she rest in peace.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Doctors and nurses of both; The Moncton Hospital and The Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital for the care given to Marjorie during her stay .
Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Monday, February 17, 2014 from 1:00pm until 1:45pm with a funeral service held in the chapel at 2:00pm with the Rev .Paul Thompson to officiate.
A reception will be held in the Garden View Reception Room immediately following the service.
The family would appreciate donations in Marjorie’s memory to the Autism Society of Canada or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
