McLEAN, MARIA - 1951 - 2014 - Maria McLean of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent passed away peacefully on February 9, 2014 at the Stella- Maris Hospital in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, NB, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Richibucto-Village, NB, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Germaine (nee: LeBlanc) Boucher. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Donald, her daughter, Michele McLean of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, two sons; Vincent (Annie) of Calgary, AB and D.J. (Mandy) of Berry Mills, NB, five sisters; Geraldine Dupuis (Gerry) of Moncton, Bernice Roy (Valmond) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent , Simonne McGarvey (Tim) of Noonan, Yolande Cormier (Donald) of Cocagne and Andrea Daigle (Uldric) of Richibucto, two brothers; Alphee Boucher (Doreen) of Shediac Bridge and Noe Boucher (Pauline) of Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, four grandchildren; Joshua, Cameron, Emmy and Lauren and several nieces and nephews. Maria lived a very happy life and touched the hearts of many. She was extremely passionate about her work as an office manager at an ophthalmology clinic in Bathurst, NB and formerly her work with the Bathurst Civic Center Foundation. She loved meeting new people and helping them out in any way she could. She loved knitting and was happiest sitting in her chair by the window looking out at the water and watching the birds. Her positive spirit and kindness were certainly an inspiration.
There will be no funeral home visits. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ovarian Cancer Canada would be appreciated. Arrangements are in the professional care of Maillet Funeral Home in Bouctouche. www.mailletfuneralhome
