Chrisoula 'Soula' Raptis (Hilakos)

Date de naissance : 21 juin 1925

Lieu de décès : Sydney
Date de décès : 12 février 2014

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Chrisoula 'Soula' (Hilakos) Raptis on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Selegouthi, Greece on June 21, 1925, she immigrated to Sydney in her early twenties. Chrisoula later met and married the love of her life, Nick Raptis, where they lived on Charlotte Street and were co-owners of the Diana Sweets Restaurant.
She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Evangelia (Grigorakou) Hilakos. Soula is survived by her sister Titika Kiriakakos (Paul) and brother Fotios Hilakos (Orsalia) by her niece Bessie (George) and nephew Peter (Lynda). Also, her nieces Christine Raptis, Maria Xidos (Raptis), Christine Higgins (John); nephews Jimmy, Theodore and John Moutsos as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews both in Canada and Greece. She is also survived by her several godchildren and many close friends and relatives who loved her.
A true lady with a generous and kind heart whose smile would light up a room. A devoted sister, aunt and friend who loved nothing better than to be in the company of her relatives and friends. She was the ultimate cook who delighted in entertaining her close friends and relatives with her wonderful meals. Her biggest joy was playing cards with her friends. Soula also enjoyed crossword puzzles, game shows and loved to go to the Casino with her friends. She truly loved Sydney (a true Cape Bretoner!) and could see herself nowhere else in the world. She always said she had a wonderful life with no regrets. Soula was a member of Sts. Anargyree Greek Orthodox Church.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Nicolas Raptis; her sisters Pota Vafakou and Stavroula Arapaki and her brother Sotirios Hilakos.
A special thank you to Nina Xidos-Aburn, Maria Xidos, Linda Kieley and Joan Sandalis for their love, care and support to Soula at her most difficult time.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the S.W.
