Lieu de décès : Deer Lake, Terre-Neuve, Canada
Date de décès : 21 février 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late William Joseph Crane announce his passing on Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 73 years. Leaving to mourn wife, Julie, four sons: Rick (Christina) Paradise; Robert, Grand Prairie, AB; Brian, Fort McMurray, AB; Barry (Christine) Turner Valley, AB. Five grandchildren, who were the light of his life – Keegan, Kiptyn, Connor & Cassie Crane and Kenny Pinksen; three sisters: Margaret Barnable, St. John’s; Patricia Crane, Orange Park, Florida; Anne Marie (Ron) Sullivan, Ferryland; two brothers: Raymond (Eileen), Calvert; Randy (Madonna), Mount Pearl; Brother-in-Law Ron White, Sister-in-Law Lorraine (Danny) Oake, Fort McMurray, AB; and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Today we lost a man who fought a long battle with Cancer but who prior to this illness lived life with great enthusiasm, good humor and much compassion. He was an honest, dedicated employee of Transport Canada for almost 35 years and when he retired, he endeavored to learn something new each year. He loved gardening and grew all our flowers from seed; he learned to play the guitar and took up painting. He was a long time coach in the Minor Hockey Association, a member of the Lion’s Club, the Parish Players, the Carol Players and the Knights of Columbus in addition to volunteering in other community activities. He accomplished a lot in life but the thing he was most proud of was being a founding member of the Humber River Golf Course in Deer Lake where he spent many hours getting the club and clubhouse up and running and then golfing there to his heart’s content. Of course the most important thing in his life was his family. He was very proud of his four sons and had great rapport and interaction with all his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. But the light of his life was his five grandchildren and every one of us will always love and miss him. Visitation at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Sunday 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM and Monday 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral to take place on Tuesday, February 25 at 2:00 PM from St. Michaels and All Angels Anglican Church, Deer Lake, Archdeacon Ed King officiating, with internment at Wight’s Road Cemetery. Donations may be made to ALC Unit, 5th Floor or Palliative Care, Western Memorial Hospital or flowers gratefully accepted. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca.
