GOWAN, MABEL A. - Passed peacefully at the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, NB on Thursday, February 27th, 2014; Mabel Alice (Greenlaw) Gowan, widow of the late Manley H. Gowan, formerly of 163 Parr Street, St. Andrews. Born in Bayside, NB. She was the daughter of the late Albert E. and Florence (Roberts) Greenlaw. Mabel is survived by her children Joan Mitchell of St Stephen, NB, Dennis (Deana) of Mayfield, Christopher of St. Andrews, Kelley Gowan of New Maryland and sister Lois Cleghorn of St Stephen, NB, nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Mabel was predeceased by a sister Eileen Jackson and brother Albert James Greenlaw. Mabel's greatest love was her family. Her wonderful sense of humor and friendship won the hearts of all who knew her. She will be sadly missed by all. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Passamaquoddy Lodge for their kindness and excellent care during Mom's stay this past year.
By Mabel's request there will be no visitation. Cremation will take place. A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 8th, 2014 at All Saints Anglican Church, King Street, St Andrews, NB at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Cancer Society, Heart Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
