The death occurred peacefully with her family by her side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Sunday, March 2, 2014 of Marjorie Jean Makin, of Margaret Stewart Ellis Home, O'Leary, aged 93, wife of the late Stanley Makin.
Born in Moncton, N.B., on January 16, 1921, daughter of the late Charles and Beulah (Smith) Makin. Dear mother-in-law to Beverley Makin, O'Leary. Loving grandmother to Mark (Joanne), Halifax; Wendy (Bob) Peters, North Granville; Chris, Bedeque; Linda (Kent) Kidwell, Colorado; Stanley (Ethel), Summerside; Bruce, Utah; Joshua, Utah; Martha (Mike) Castleton, Andrew (Molly); Timothy, Utah. Beloved step grandmother to Kilmeny Boates, O'Leary and David (Cindy) Boates, Harrington. Great grandmother to 28 grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Marjorie is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by her parents; husband, Stanley (1985); daughter, Linda (Les) Stout (2006); son, Gordon Makin (2012); sister, Myrth (Bill) Howell; and brother, Del (Phil) Hopper.
Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O'Leary, with visiting hours Tuesday March 4, from 6-9 p.m. Funeral service Wednesday, March 5, at 11 a.m. in the O'Leary United Church. Interment to follow at a later date in the Lower Bedeque Cemetery.
In memory of Marjorie, memorials to the O'Leary United Church would be appreciated.
