The death occurred at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton on Saturday March 1, 2014 of Josephine Doucette, formerly of Palmer Road North aged 94 years. Wife of the late Leo A. Doucette. She was born in Rumford, Maine on June 9, 1919, the daughter of the late Joe and Catherine nee Perry Gallien.
Dear mother to Jean Firth, Charlottetown; Julia (Leonard) Richard, Tignish; Emmanuel Doucette, Summerside; Roy (Joann) Doucette, Toronto; David Doucette, Sea Cow Pond; Leigh (Rosie) Doucette, Toronto; Kevin (Evanne) Doucette, Palmer Road and Dott (Edward) Martin, St. Roch. Loving grandmother to 37 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. She is survived by a brother Bill (Cathy) Gallien, Skinner Pond and a brother-in-law Freddie (Edna) Gaudet, Tignish. She was predeceased by her husband Leo, parents Joe and Catherine, sons Paul and Johnny and a daughter Joan Anne, sisters Geraldine, Julia, and Lorette and a brother Leo. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road for visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 9-10 a.m. Funeral will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road where funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Arthur Sequeira. Memorial donations to the PEI Lung Association would be greatly appreciated. Interment will take place at a later date.
