Man about town, master of life and world traveler, died on March 1 2014. John was born in Barrie Ontario, the middle of five children, a soldier’s son, he had the wanderlust.
John graduated from Montague Regional High School in 1972 and promptly left to see the world. He traveled extensively, over half the continents, acquiring a global net of friends, finally settling in Vancouver Canada. He moved to Edmonton only months before his passing.
John is survived by his mother Jane; brothers Darrell and Timothy; sisters Adele and Dawn; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his father Ralph James Thompson.
A memorial service will be held at 9331 35 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, Sunday, March 9, 2014, 3 to 5 p.m.
