The death occurred peacefully with her family by her side at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, of Doris Catherine Costain (nee Doucette), Alberton, formerly of Palmer Road, aged 84, wife of the late Alvin Costain. Born in New Jersey, USA, on April 2, 1929, daughter of the late Ben and Catherine (Perry) Doucette. Dear mother to Theresa (Ernie) Currie, Rosebank; Ruby (Russell) Coughlin, New Annan; Marie (John) Vincent, Montrose; Milton (Mary), Summerside; and Edward, East Bideford. Loving grandmother to 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Doris is also survived by brother; Francis (Geralda) Doucette, St. Eleanors; sister Josephine (Wilfred) Doucette, Nova Scotia, and sister-in-law Audrey Doucette, Summerside. Predeceased by her parents, husband Alvin (1995), daughter Thelma in infancy, sisters Rita (Henry) Hustler, Louise (Art) Arsenault, brother Edward, also baby brothers Russell, Junior and Bennett in infancy. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O'Leary, with visiting hours Sunday, March 9, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service Monday, March 10, at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Interment to follow in the Miminegash United Cemetery. In memory of Doris, memorials to the Miminegash United Cemetery or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
