Born in Harbour Deep, passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at age 89. Predeceased by his parents Julian & Lydia; his first wife Elenor (Banks); and two sons Garry and Dean. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Aletha; his children: Vonne (Wade) Janes, Kaye (Roeland) Migchelsen, Geoff (Brenda), Jody (Craig) Elson); step-children: Garry (Christine) Milley, David (Donna) Milley, Graham (Karen) Milley, and Elaina (Michael) Jones; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Herbert was an active member of several churches where he contributed to many aspects of church life. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl, on Saturday, March 15th, from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm. Funeral service to be held from Park Avenue Pentecostal Church on Sunday, March 16th, at 2:00pm. Interment to take place on Monday, March 17th, at the Old Pentecostal Cemetery, White's Road, in Deer Lake. In lieu of flowers, donation in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
