
E. Arnold Rogers
ROGERS, E. ARNOLD - E. Arnold Rogers, of Moncton, passed away suddenly on vacation on February 22, 2014, at the age of 85. Born in Woodpoint, NB, January 3rd, 1929, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary (McKeen) Rogers. Arnold is survived and truly missed by his loving wife Joan (Schousboe) Rogers, sons; Brian (Jeanie Jim), Larry (Shelley Kee), daughters; Sheila (Glen) Beers, Sandra (Rod) Ritchie. He is also survived by his step-sons; Cyril, Peter (CJ), Stephen (Lisa), Eric (Joanne) and Ian (Francine) Whiteley, sister-in-law Shirley Hunt, his grandchildren; Chelsea (Aaron Rotman) Rogers, Nathan Rogers, Zoe Rogers, Madeleine Rogers, Scott Ritchie, Heidi Ritchie, Andrew Weir, Rachael Weir, Dylan Rogers, Kyle Rogers, 12 step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. He will also be missed greatly by Tia, his feline friend. Aside from his parents, Arnold is predeceased by his first wife of 48 years, Dorothy (Hunt) Rogers and his sister, Margaret, at age 8. Arnold attended Mount Allison Commercial College graduating with a business certificate in June 1949. He then traveled to Moncton where he became a member of Wesley Memorial United Church and the Men’s Club. Arnold started a 27-year career with Eaton’s as the Customs and Traffic Supervisor. After it closed, he worked with several local transportation companies, primarily CP Transport. Arnold enjoyed many years of square and round dancing and loved to travel the world. An avid camper, he and his family spent many happy times camping around the Maritimes and later he especially loved adventuring in their motorhome. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a true gentleman, loyal, kind, compassionate, patient and generous with a real passion for living. He had a marvelous sense of humour and a genuine love of people and animals.
Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday, March 20th, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Friday at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations in Arnold’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
