Madeline Moffit

Date de décès : 8 mars 2014

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Madeline Evelyn (Trimble) Moffitt. Madeline passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the Swift Current Care Centre. We know she was called back to her heavenly home. Madeline was born on April 8,1930, in Swift Current, to Kenneth & Hilda Trimble. She attended Elmwood School and then SCCI. She took secretarial training and worked as a stenographer at the Swift Current Union Hospital. Madeline was united in marriage to Sidney Moffitt Aug 18,1950. They moved to Oregon and then to South Carolina. Madeline, along with Sid and their four children, Gary, Joyce, John and Gail, returned to Saskatchewan in 1968. They bought a farm north of Webb and were quite satisfied with their decision. They all worked together growing crops and hay. Mom liked gardens and flowers and helped to no end with the farming in general. She was a 4-H leader and a member of the Lloyd Community Ladies Group. She was actively involved in Teen Aid and ProLife. Mom's passion was reading and she would read anything she could get her hands on. Many hours were spent playing scrabble at the kitchen table with Sid. The light and love of her life were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Later on in her life, different illnesses began to set in like arthritis, shingles and some heart problems. All of these took their toll and eventually became very serious. Despite her desperate fight for her health, too many things closed in on Madeline. On a sad day in March, the family was called in. Everyone gave their love and tears and our Madeline was peacefully called home to the loving arms of Jesus. The family would like to thank all of the staff at the Swift Current Care Centre for their kindness and care of Madeline. We know she is with Gail and all the people who loved her. She would have been 84in April and would have been married 64 years in August. Madeline will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Sidney; her children, Gary, Joyce (Kettner) and John; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Kathleen Blakely; sister-in-law, Lois Trimble; and numerous other relatives. She was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth & Hilda Trimble; a daughter, Gail Klassen; brother, Norman Trimble; and by a sister, Jean Smith.
