It is with great sadness that the family of the late Russell Samms announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on Friday March 28th 2014 at the age of 82 years. He will be sadly missed by his two sons Maxwell (Linda) Samms, Brian (Genny) Samms all in Stephenville, his three daughters Olivia Ralph in Grand Falls Windsor, Rochelle (Hughie) Bourgeois, Alana (Floyd) Alley all in Kippen’s. Also leaving to mourn are his sisters Cora Fitzgerald, Shirley Elworthy both in Black Duck Siding, Jean Russell in Ontario, 14 grand children, 18 great grand children and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Alfreda, his parents Angela and Jack, brothers Wilson Samms, Henry Samms, Billy Corbin and sister Beatrice. Visitation will take place on Monday March 31st from 7-9 and Tuesday April 1st from 2-4 and 7-9 at Russell’s Funeral Home in Stephenville. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2014 at 11 a.m. from the First United Church on St. Clare Avenue in Stephenville with interment in the Hillside Interfaith cemetery on the Hansen Highway.
