FENTON, Allen Bruce – age 82, Sycamore Street, Yarmouth, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 28, 2014 at home. Born March 8, 1932 in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late William and Mildred (Nichols) Fenton. Allen worked with the Corps of Commissionaires. He was a huge wrestling fan, and enjoyed going for walks and watching baseball. He is survived by his children, June Jones, Calgary, Alberta; Heather Jones, Halifax; Pauline (Leonard) Brown, Yarmouth; Lorraine Jones (William Roy), Halifax; Rose (Gordon) Atkinson, Yarmouth; Mitzi Loppie, Halifax, as well as by ten grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Lorraine, Grace and Florie as well as by a brother, Lawrence. Aside from his parents, William and Mildred, he was predeceased by the mother of his children, Nellie Jones, as well as by a sister, Marjorie and brothers, Bill, Paul, Doodle and Leslie. Visitation took place from 2-4 and 7-9 Wednesday, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 3, all at Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth, Rev. A. D. (Bill) Newell officiated. Burial took place in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the IWK Hospital Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
