PERRY, RETA MAE - The death of Reta Mae Perry, 94, wife of the late Ronald Perry of Havelock, occurred on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Serenacare, Moncton. Born in Apohaqui in 1920, she was the daughter of the late George and Harriet (Armstrong) McEwen. After completing her early education at Apohaqui, Sussex, she attended Provincial Normal School in Fredericton and taught for forty-five years in New Brunswick schools. She was a member of the St. Paul's Anglican Church in Havelock, and an honorary member of St. Paul's A.C.W. She was a member of the NB Retired Teachers' Association and a life member of the Kings County Museum and Archival Society. She was for many years a member of the Havelock Seniors Federations. She is survived by one sister Marion Mapplebeck of Saint John; six nieces Caroline Atkins (Fred) of BC, Elizabeth Randall (Ray) of BC, Joyce McCartan (Jim) of Campbellford, ON, Joan Young (Peter) of Murray Harbour, PEI, Margo Mapplebeck of Saint John and Patricia Steeves (Claude) of Havelock. Also survived by two nephews, Ralph Mapplebeck (Candace) of Fredericton and Ronald Perry of Tennessee. Besides her parents and her husband she was predeceased two sisters Annie Elliott (Albert) and Marguerite Boudreau (Paul) and two brothers, Ralph and Gordon McEwen, brother-in-law Paul Mapplebeck and nephew George Boudreau
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) where visitation will be held Sunday, April 13 from 2 to 5 pm and from where the funeral will be held in the chapel Monday, April 14 at 11 am with Rev. Chris Hayes officiating. Interment will take place at Greenhill Cemetery, Havelock. If desired, donations may be made in Reta's memory to the Parkinson Society of Canada or a charity of choice.
