Sheila MacPhee
Lieu de décès : Guelph, Ontario, Canada
We, the family, are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Sheila MacPhee (nee Currie), age 67, of Guelph, Ontario, after an heroic 10-year battle with cancer.
Sheila was the beloved wife of Gary MacPhee, treasured mother of James (Toby), Laura (Rick) and Kristina. Also surviving is her brother Sandy (Kaye) Currie; and sister-in-law Marilyn Currie, as well as grandchildren, Claire, Rowan, Graham and Bridget.
Sheila was predeceased by her parents, John Allen and Mae (nee Flynn) Currie; as well as her sister Babe (John A.) and her brother Greg, all late of Glace Bay, N.S.
Sheila was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University and she was an English teacher at Centennial CVI for 31 years. Her passion for teaching and love of literature inspired hundreds of students, and her quick wit and dry sense of humour made her a favourite in the classroom. Sheila served as the heart of her close-knit family, and her unwavering faith and support provided us with the strength to believe that anything is possible.
We would like to thank Dr. Dhesy-Thind and the staff of the Juravinski Cancer Centre for all their help over the years, and the staff of the Guelph General Hospital for making Sheila's last day peaceful.
Friends are invited to meet with the family at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A vigil for Sheila will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 409 Paisley Rd., Guelph, on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. Interment, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph.
