Elderton Margaret (Margo) (nee Greenstien)
Age 86 of Kyle, Sask. passed away on Tuesday April 8, 2014. She is survived by her two sons Marvin of Medicine Hat and Kelly of Kyle, Grandchildren Barbara (Tony) Biro (nee Stipchick) of Edmonton, Taylor Elderton of Lethbridge and Great Grandchildren Courtney and Justin Biro of Edmonton. She is also survived by her son in law Chuck Stipchick of Edmonton, one sister Corrine (Tillie) Renz of Golden B.C and one Sister in law Vi Greenstien of Saskatoon.
She was predeceased by her parents Mike and Barbara Greenstein of Eston, her husband Ralph (Red) in 2009, her only daughter Janet Stipchick in 1979, all seven of her Brothers Johny (Alice), Ben, Matt, Hank (Vi), Louis, Paul, and Steve. Five sisters Lizzie (John) Resch, Marjorie (Sam) Resch, Maggie (Tom) Tuchscherer, Eva (Mike) Nikiwski, Rose Lawrence) Hartman. Red's parents Bert and Marie Elderton and Red's siblings Marie (Nils) Egeland, Evelyn (Pete) Saanerud, Aubrey, and Ruth (Tommy) Swanson, as well as all but one of her sister and brothers in law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Margo was born at Lancer, Sask. April 28,1927 to Mike and Barbara Greenstien one of a family of fourteen. They later moved to Plato and then on to Eston. She came to Kyle in 1948 and worked for various families as a housekeeper. She married Ralph (Red) Elderton in 1949 and with the exception of a couple jobs outside the home she became pretty much a full time wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a wonderful cook as well as an awesome baker and joyfully made everyone's favorites both sweet and savoury and right up until the end took special requests from the grandchildren and great grandchildren when they came to visit and she never disappointed. For several years Margo was an active member of The Royal Purple and occupied all the chairs including Honored Royal Lady and District Deputy.
Margo also had a great passion and talent for different crafts including needlework, crocheting, and quilting. There are many, many needlepoint pictures, doilies, tablecloths, and quilts cherished by both family members and close friends.
At Margo's request the will be no funeral service, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering to celebrate her life will take place at a later date.
