It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one, Mrs. Ethel Stokes, aged 85 yrs of Deadman’s Bay. Mrs. Stokes passed away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 surrounded by her family. Pre-deceased by her husband Peter, parents Nehemiah and Jessie Chaulk, brothers Cyril, Carl, Carman and Freeman, sister Sybil, grandchildren Roger, Melissa, Cory, great-grandchildren Pacey and Warrick Jr, sons-in-law Warrick, Rayburn and Leslie. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her three sons Ross (Mary) of Deadman’s Bay, Donald (Denise) of Deadman’s Bay, Terry (Deanne) of Grande Cache, AB, 7 daughters Mildred (Newman) of Goose Bay, Iona of Musgrave Harbour, AMrilyn of Moncton, Neta (Robert) of Ragged Harbour, Fern (Melvin) of Deadman’s Bay, Sarah (Sandy) of Ragged Harbour, Ada (Terry) of St. John’s, brother Jack (Jenneth) of Lumsden, four sisters Jane (Maxwell) of Deadman’s Bay, Beulah (Beaton) of Musgrave Harbour, Roby (Elmore) of Deadman’s Bay, and Yvonne (Edgar) of Musgrave Harbour, 26 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren. Also, a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on Saturday, April 26th from the Salvation Army Citadel in Musgrave Harbour with Majors Barry and Donna Anstey officiating. Interment followed from the Salvation Army Cemetery in Deadman’s Bay. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home in Musgrave Harbour – Wesleyville.
