McGowan: James David McGowan was born June 1, 1954 in Swift Current Union Hospital. He lived on the family farm near Pennant with parents, Stanley and Mable and older brother Robert (Bert). James married Kathy Cobler in May of 1986. In 1993 they welcomed the arrival of daughter DesiRae. The family made their home in Swift Current. James remained at home to care for DesiRae the first 12 years of her life. After which time, James and Kathy parted ways, but always remained close friends; both active in DesiRae's life. To cherish his memory, James leaves behind, daughter DesiRae; sister-in-law Collette and niece Michelle. He was predeceased by his parents, Stan and Mable and brothers Francis and Bert. James died peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Cypress Regional Hospital with DesiRae by his side. Thank you to the staff of the Cypress Regional Hospital for their excellent care. The Memorial Service was held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Warren's Funeral Home with John Duncan officiating. The Interment Service was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
