LÉGER, GÉRARD - Gérard Léger, 71, of Trois-Ruisseaux, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at his residence. Born November 9, 1942 in Trois-Ruisseaux, he was the son of late Alphonse and Amanda (Cormier) Léger. Before his retirement, he worked as an employee at Sea Tide Import & Export in Cap-Pelé. He is survived by his common law spouse, Charline LeBlanc; one daughter, Ursula Morin (Benoît) of Cap-Pelé; one son, Alain Léger (Julie Laviollette) of Gatineau, QC; three sisters: Blanche Vautour of Trois-Ruisseaux, Clara Landry (Gerald) of MA and Thérèse Brun (Jean) of Petit-Cap; three grandchildren: Xavier, Dalie and Maxime; step-daughter, Anik; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister, Alphonsine Bourque and three brothers: Léonce, Adelard and Ulysse.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral Centre, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé (577-3297). Visiting hours are Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Thursday from 9:30 am. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse d’Avila Roman Catholic church, 2648 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In memory of Gérard, a contribution to the South-East Ability Center or donation to the family would be appreciated.
