Hazel Fox
Date de décès : 9 mai 2014
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Hazel Christina Fox (Lofgren) of Moose Jaw on May 9, 2014. Hazel was born on February 1, 1918 in Victoria, BC. She returned to the family farm at Baildon, SK with her parents Oscar and Margaret Lofgren shortly thereafter. She had one adopted brother, Delmar. Hazel completed her education at Baildon School. She married Arnold Fox on December 9, 1937. They had two children Don and Bette (who she often referred to as Sue). Hazel belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary, the Federal Civil Servants and Baildon Happy Gang. She enjoyed doing crafts such as paper tole, crewel embroidery, knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed bowling and gardening. Mom accepted life’s challenges. She battled rheumatoid arthritis without complaints. She was gracious, kind, non-judgmental and above all cheerful, a woman whose strength allowed her to remain in her own home until she was 92 years old. Her greatest joy was providing for her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Oscar and Margaret Lofgren; adopted brother Delmar and wife Mildred and her husband Arnold in 1981. She leaves to mourn her passing her son Don; daughter Bette; numerous nieces and nephews and their families as well as cherished friends. We would like to thank the staff of Pioneers Lodge, in particular Prairie View for everything you did for her. The Funeral Service will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel on Wednesday May 14, 2014 at 1:30 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to Pioneers Lodge Recreational Department, 1000 Albert Street, Moose Jaw, S6H 2Y2. In living memory of Hazel, a memorial planting will be made by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries).
