Cora M. Musgrave, age 80, of Florence, Cape Breton passed away peacefully at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, Sydney on May 10th, 2014.
Cora was born in the house where she proudly lived for 79 years. She was the daughter of the late Hugh and Isabell (Stubbert) Campbell.
Cora was a long-time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Florence Volunteer Fire Department where she cheerfully and tirelessly participated in fundraising events in support of the fledgling fire department. 1969 – 1976 Cora was the local Avon representative before working at T.L. Sullivan school on ‘Bus & Lunch’. In 1977 she took a job on the cleaning staff working mostly at T.L. Sullivan and Memorial High until retiring in 1998. Cora loved spending time with family and friends. She was an avid camper, loved dancing and playing cards.
Cora is survived by her husband, Glenn A. Musgrave, Florence, NS; son, Glenn C. Musgrave (Pat), Timberlea, NS; daughter, Mona Whitehouse (Dave), Little Falls, NY and son, Brett Musgrave (Debbie), Elmsdale, NS; grandchildren, Scott Musgrave, Blake Musgrave, Jessica Hawley, Erin Firman and Taylor Musgrave; great grandchildren, Mark Firman and Lane Musgrave; sisters-in-law, Mona Campbell and Virginia (Chook) Lewis.
She was predeceased by brother, Hugh Campbell; sisters, Irene Fry and Rita Baxter; and sister-in-law, Lorraine Norman.
A celebration of life service and interment will be announced at a later date.
