GREEN, JOAN CATHERINE - Surrounded by her family, the death of Joan Green, wife of John Green occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, May 12, 2014. She was born in Saint John to the late Harry and Ethel (Wells) Doherty. Joan was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and great grandmother; she devoted her life to her family. She and John travelled the world, they had many trips abroad including Australia and Europe. Joan was an avid gardener, reader, dog lover and was happiest when spending time with family and friends. She was a member of St. Mark's United Church. Joan is survived by John her husband of over 50 years; her children: Scott (Joanne) of Halifax, Jeffrey (Krista) of Saint John, and Carol Bird (Charles) and Lois Smith both of Guelph, ON; sister, Phyllis Doherty of Saint John; grandchildren: Paige, Carter, Stuart, Matthew, Lorna, John Carl, Brent (Kim), Christopher, Lisa (Michael), Kelly (Darren) and Hudson (Amy); great-grandchildren:, Nathan, Carli, Jessica, Nicholas, Tyler, Ella, Mia, Peyton, Carson and Madelyn and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers: Glendon, Harry, Ronald and Kenneth and sisters: Betty, Audrey and Shirley Jane.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). There will be no public visitation. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 12:00 noon. For those who wish remembrance to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
