Thelma May Falt, 94, of the Valley View Villa, Riverton, formerly of Stellarton, passed away May 11, 2014 at the villa.
Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Elsie (Swanwick) Dykens.
Thelma was a resident of the Valley View Villa for the past six and a half years having previously resided in Stellarton. During her working years, she was employed at the former Aberdeen Hospital Nurse’s Residence up until her retirement.
Thelma was a member of the Christ Anglican Church in Stellarton, as well as a past member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Stellarton. She enjoyed sewing, baking, fishing, bowling, dancing and travelling.
She is survived by daughters, Jamesina (Vernon) Talbot, Stellarton; Janet Lucas, New Glasgow; sons, Milton (Margaret), Hamilton; Robert (Ann), Toronto; a son-in-law Wilfred Rondelet, Pictou; 17 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Henrietta Baker, Westville; Elaine (James) Turnbull, Stellarton; brothers, Fraser (Louise), Stellarton; Baker (Winnie), Stellarton; sisters-in-law Lois and Frances Dykens.
She was predeceased by her first husband, James Langille, second husband, Chester Falt, a daughter Marion Rondelet, grandchildren: Raymond Rondelet, Marlene Johnston, Brenda Langille; brothers: Robert, Daniel and Malcolm, sisters: Violet Carrigan, Dorothy and Maxine in infancy, brother-in-law James Baker.
Cremation to take place.
The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday both from the Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury presiding. Burial of ashes will take place in the church cemetery. Reception to follow in the church hall.
Donations in memory of Thelma may be made to the Christ Anglican Church or to the Valley View Villa Recreation Fund.
