VLAAR, JANICE E. (CURRIE) - 1947-2014 - Miramichi - Janice Elaine (Currie) Vlaar, widow of the late Herman M. Vlaar, of Princess Street, Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Friday, May 16, 2014, at the age of 67. Born in Chatham on May 5, 1947, she was the daughter of Ida (Wood) and the late Robert Currie. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi, as well as a volunteer with the Miramichi Hospice Program. She is survived by her mother, Ida Currie, of Miramichi; one daughter, Jillian I. C. Macosky (Troy), of Miramichi; one son, Marcus P.R. Vlaar (Sharon), of Chestermere, AB; one sister, Sharon MacCullum (Collie), of Hampton; one brother, Robert (Bob) Currie (Ellen Marie), of Miramichi; four grandchildren, Jordyn and Aiden Vlaar and Jade and Cole Macosky; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Herman, in 2011.
Visitation will be held from Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 1409 King St., Miramichi, on Thursday, May 22, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi, on Friday, May 23, 2014, at 10:00 am, and will be conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight. Interment will be in Moorefield Cemetery, Miramichi. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Miramichi Hospice Program or any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
