CALLAGHAN, EDWIN H. - It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Edwin at the Saint John Regional Hospital which occurred on Friday, May 16, 2014. Edwin was born in Saint John on December 23, 1922 and was a son of the late Moses and Mary Callaghan. Edwin served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War and was a member of Legion Branch #64. After 41 years of service he retired from the Regional Office of Veteran's Affairs. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Cheryl Callaghan (Patterson), are his sister, Edith Riley of Sarnia, ON; brothers and sisters-in-law; several nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Phyllis McLean; his brothers, Arthur and Howard; sisters, Ellamay, Martha, Gladys and Alice.
Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John, NB (634-1965) with visiting on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 from 1 to 2 pm followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm in Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home Chapel and burial at Ocean View Cemetery.
