PORTER, Benita Jessie - Peacefully, on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 a beautiful angel on earth was taken from us at the age of 94. Predeceased by her beloved husband Donald Porter. Cherished mother of Karen Van Dongen of B.C. and Donna Corsini (Guy). Loving and proud grandmother of Stephen Van Dongen (Quin Quin), Peter Van Dongen (Clarice), Lianna Corsini, and Richard Corsini. Great-grandmother of Janelle and Troy Van Dongen. Benita will be dearly missed by her sister Genevieve Deveau, brother-in-law Arthur (Mildred), son-in-law John Van Dongen, many nieces and nephews and her best friend Maria Corsini. Predeceased by her brothers Wilfred, Clayton, Eddie, Ernest, sisters Millie, Angele, May, Josephine and brothers-in-law Arnold, Ken, Victor, and sister-in-law Dorothy. Benita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Cremation and a private family service has taken place. Benita will be laid to rest back home in Nova Scotia at a later date. If desired, donations to a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
