The death occurred at her late residence on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, of Clarissa Ward, of Richmond, aged 101 years. Born in Victoria West, she was the daughter of the late James and Beatrice (Ramsay) MacFadyen. She was the last surviving member of her family. Survived by her children Clarissa "Tessie" McCarville, Borden-Carleton; Wendell (Caroline) Ward, Wellington; Barbara (Clifford) Paugh, St. Hubert; Judie (Armand) DesRoches, Charlottetown; Joan Ward (Reg Noonan), Summerside; Eric Ward (Debbie McLaren), Debert, NS; 24 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; special friend Jean Arsenault; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Albert Ward; son-in-law Roy McCarville; grandson Gregory Paugh; brothers John and Ellis MacFadyen; sisters Catherine Henderson, Elsie MacDonald and Verna Palmer. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Interment in the Peoples Cemetery, Victoria West. Visiting hours Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations to the P.E.I. Humane Society would be appreciated.
