Beryl Emma Simms

Beryl Emma Simms of St. Anthony was born on March 29, 1931. She worked as a nurse's aide at IGA prior to becoming a wife and mother. Beryl enjoyed many outdoor activities with her husband and children and in later years cherished spending time with her grandchildren. She loved bingo games with her friends, cooking for everyone, and tending to her flower garden. She remained witty throughout her long life. Beryl passed into peace on May 26, 2014 at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony in her 83rd year. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed. She leaves to mourn her children Barb (Sam), Beattie (Cathy) and Bradley (Jennifer); grandchildren Tara, Michael, Amanda, Samantha, Alana, Alexander and Nikita; great-grandchildren Eli, Simon, Cynthia, Maddison, McKenna, Taylor, and Alexa; siblings: sister Marjorie, and brothers Bill, Bruce, Allan, and Morgan, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Alex, parents Frederick and Jane Colbourne, daughter Pamela (Bob), sisters Florence, Irene, and brother Edward. Visitation took place at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 29 at St. Anthony United Church with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Burial followed the service at the Fishing Point United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
