Schofield, Jean L. – 80, of Kentville, passed away peacefully Friday May 30th, 2014 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kingsport, she was a daughter of the late James and Hilda (Woodworth) Fraser. Jean will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She will be fondly remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Jean is survived by daughters, Margaret (Paul) Allen, Gaspereau, Deborah (Neil) Race, Wolfville, Brenda (Gary) Carter, Coldbrook, Barbara Stevens, New Minas; sister, Connie (Ken) Bayers, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Clayton, Melissa, Matthew, Nicholas, Andrew, Alesha, Jeffery, Sara; four great grandchildren; three nieces. Besides her parents, Jean was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred; sister, Olive. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, Wolfville Chapel (902-542-4656). A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday June 4th at Baxter’s Harbour Cemetery, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to Our Community Our Health Campaign to support funding for a new Hospice-Palliative Care Centre.
