Passed peacefully away at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Thursday, June 5th, 2014 Bernard Christopher Pike at the age of 83. Left to mourn, his wife of 60 years Vera Poole; daughter Donna Layden (Hayward), son Ross Pike; grandchildren: Christopher (Ashley), Rebecca (Robbie) and Karen (John), great- grandchildren: Ashlea, Brendan, Chaz, Rachael, Amy, Elizabeth and Ariel; brothers and sisters: Rita Eliassen, Yvonne McDonald, Evangeline Miles, Marion Biasutti and Richard Pike (Barb); brothers and sisters–in-law: Winnie Pike, Allen Poole (Shirley), Norman Poole (Agatha), Kalvin Poole, Sarah Whalen (Jack) and Loretta Skinner (Gerard); as well he will be missed by many other family members and close friends including his furry little friend Rosie. Bernard was predeceased by his parents, William and Margaret Pike, granddaughter Usha-Lynn, sisters: Mary–Ellen and Alma, brothers: Christopher, Mark, Ronald and Dominic. We will be gathering for visitation at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, June 9th at 10:00 a.m. from Sacred Heart Church, Curling Street with Father Maurice O’Quinn officiating, followed by the interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church or to a charity of one’s choice.
