Reta Margaret Fitzpatrick
Age 86, 72 Baker Dr. in Dartmouth, N.S. Born in Maccan, N.S. passed
away suddenly yet peacefully under the comforting care of the staff at
Dartmouth General Hospital on June 9th, 2014.
She will be sadly missed by her three children, Douglas (Dana) Fitzpatrick, Ann (John Robidoux) Barrett and Ruth Buchanan as well as her six grandchildren, Deni, Scott, Elizabeth, Angela, Katherine and Colin and her 8 great-grandchildren.
Reta was predeceased by her husband Bruce in 2012 and her mother and father, Margaret and Cyrus Smith. Reta and Bruce enjoyed 14 years wintering in Lakeland, Florida and many summers at their cottage in River Phillip in the company of their children, grandchildren and many close friends. In recent years Reta (and Bruce) resided at and received wonderful care at Shannex’s Parkland at the Lakes retirement residence in Dartmouth where they made many new and special friends. Reta’s great love for knitting led to her donating hundreds of hand knit dolls to the IWK.
A service in celebration of Reta’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14th, 2014. Service and interment followed by a reception will be held at Atlantic Funeral Homes, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, N.S.
