MUZZERALL, CECIL - Cecil Richard Muzzerall of Clarendon, NB, passed away at The Veterans Health Unit in Fredericton on June 9, 2014. Cecil was born May 2, 1925 to the late Michael and Mary (Malley) Muzzerall. Cecil is survived by his wife Theresa (Doiron) Muzzerall, one daughter Robin, five sons: Alan, Michael, James, Keith and David, and one sister Florence Briggs. As well his passing has left a void in the lives of his fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by one daughter Lorna, four sisters: Regina, Muriel, Blanche and Amanda, six brothers; Harrison, Weldon, Archie, Earl, Les, Doug and daughter-in-law Debbie. Cecil retired from the Royal Canadian Navy after more than 25 years service, retiring with the rank of Chief Petty Officer Second Class. His naval service included wartime service in convey duty in the North Atlantic and served on all three of Canada’s aircraft carriers. He then drove a school bus 19 years for School District 20. He was an avid bowler, hunter as well as he managed the Welsford Golf Club in the summers of the mid 70’s. The family would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to Shirley and Albert Welton for the excellent care given to Dad that allowed him to stay in his home as long as possible. We also want to thank all the staff and volunteers at the Veterans Health Unit for making him feel at home during his stay with them.
Funeral Service will be at Saint Columba Catholic Church in Fredericton Junction on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at 2:30pm. with Father Mark Trzop officiating. A reception to follow at the Gladstone Curling Club, where you may come and share your stories of Cecil as we know there are many. You may express your sympathy by making a donation to the Veterans Health Unit in Fredericton or a charity of your choice.
