Bessie Agnes MacIsaac age 89, of Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow formerly of Sunny Brae passed away June 14, 2014 in the Manor. Born in Sunny Brae she was a daughter of the late Peter R. and Jessie (Campbell) Fraser.
Bessie was a longtime resident of Sunny Brae. She was a member of the Calvin Presbyterian Church, Sunny Brae, where she was a former Sunday School teacher, a member of the Ladies Aid, and W.M.S.. Bessie was a member of MacDonald Rebekah Lodge Sunny Brae for over 60 years. She loved to cook and you never left without a good cup of tea. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years Donald Archibald MacIsaac, East River Manor, daughter Faye (Don) Hicks, Pictou; sons Eldridge (Carolyn), Durham; Randall (Dolly), Churchville; grandchildren Kelly, Shara Lee, Duane, Shelley, Janice, Glenn, Carleen, James, and Chelsea; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters Helen (Jack) Roberts, Sunny Brae; Catherine (John) Muise, Stellarton; brother Simon (Betty) Fraser, Thorburn; sister-in-law Joyce Fraser, Victoria, BC; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sister Isobel (Harold) Hambleton, brother Robert “Bob” Fraser.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home. A family committal service will be held in Sunny Brae Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to the Sunny Brae Cemetery c/o Brian Sharpe RR 1 Eureka, NS B0K 1B0.
