­TRENTON – William Charles “Bill” Davidson, age 87, of the Valley View Villa, formerly of Seventh Street, Trenton, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 in the Villa.
Born in Trenton, he was a son of the late Austin and Catherine Davidson.
He was a retired press operator from Hawker Siddeley and a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Trenton. An avid softball fan, he was past president of the Trenton Fastball League and Highland Zone representative for over 20 years. He was very proud to have been an inductee to the Pictou County Sports Heritage Hall of Fame.
He is survived by a daughter, Deborah (Brian) Higgins, New Glasgow; son, William “Bill” (Jennie Tibbo), New Glasgow; grandson, Bryan (Christine) Higgins; great-grandchildren: Shelby, Shawn and Abigail; sister, Lois (Irving) Kitson, Lime Rock.
He was predeceased by sisters: Donna Pye, June Cosh, Kay MacPherson; brother, Granville Feltmate.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton. Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday from the Church of the Nazarene, Trenton, with Rev. Leon Teal officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
