In Hay River, North West Territories on June 1, 2014, Rachel the daughter of Vic and Wendy Littlejohn of New Waterford, N.S. was lost to her family.
She had recently returned from Peru, where she enjoyed the natural surroundings of the jungle there. She loved nature (especially frogs) and lived her life as a passionate wildlife lover, including being a committed vegetarian.
Rachel is survived by her three brothers, Paul, Michael and Timothy, as well as her sister, Rebekah, who loved her very much.
She was predeceased by all her grandparents and her Aunt Pam.
May they all rest in peace.
For their tireless efforts, we wish to give sincere thanks to RCMP Detachment Commander Greg Morrow, as well as Ground Search and Rescue, Aircraft Patrol (helicopter pilots), Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Police Dog Handlers, Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, Hay River Fire Department and a whole community who willingly volunteered their time to search for our daughter. We are so grateful to you all.
A memorial was held privately for Rachel.
We will never forget you. We miss you so much and cannot believe that you're gone.
