SAULNIER, Georgette Jean – 75, Yarmouth, formerly of Pinkney’s Point, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born March 29, 1939 in Comeau’s Hill, she was a daughter of Reggie DeViller and the late Rosie (Jacquard) DeViller. In her younger years, Georgette worked as a cook on Deep Cove Island, having also worked at The Thistle Knit, the Met and House of Shoes. She loved, and was very talented at, quilting, crocheting and knitting. In her spare time she enjoyed bingo and was an active member of the Seniors Kickin’ Country line dancing group. Aside from her many friends, she is survived by her father, Reggie DeViller, Veteran’s Place, Yarmouth; her daughter, Nicole Saulnier (Ian DeViller), Little River Harbour, as well as by her brother, Lawrence (Eileen) DeViller, Brazil Lake, and sisters, Ida (Bill) DeViller, Yarmouth and Velma (Gerald) Scott, Plymouth. Aside from her mother, Rosie, she was predeceased by her husband, Jackie Saulnier, as well as by her special friend, Addison Atkinson. Visitation took place from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Sunday, with prayers at 8 p.m., both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral mass was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 23 at Saint Raphael’s Catholic Church, Pinkney’s Point, Father Gerald David officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. It was requested that there be family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund or to the Tri-County Site of the VON.
