James "Percy" Stuart

STUART, JAMES "PERCY" - Percy went to see his Lord on Friday, July 4, 2014 at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB after a long illness. Born at Lord’s Cove, NB on August 3, 1927, he was a son of the late Merton and Eliza (Doughty) Stuart. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce (Oliver) Stuart, his children, James, Sheila (Brian) Conley and Steven (Diane), a granddaughter, Christa (Larry) Parent and great-grandchildren Marckus and Marcie. He is also survived by his sister, Mildred Pendleton and sister-in-law, Vera Stuart and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Percy was predeceased by brothers, Lawrence, Donald and Herbert, sisters, Hazel Stuart and Myrtle Richardson and by a nephew Artie Pendleton. Percy took great pride in his family and church. He had a great love of carpentry and making crafts. Percy was a member of the Lambert’s Cove Baptist Church as well as a member of the Abnaki Lodge # 55 F&AM and the Granite Chapter OES # 15.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB from where the service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Tuesday at 2 pm with Rev. Maurice Hatfield officiating, followed by the interment at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Richardson, NB. Visiting at the funeral home will be held on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 8:30pm. A Masonic Tribute Service will take place at the funeral home on Monday at 6:30 pm followed by an OES Tribute Service at 6:45 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the NB Kidney Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. (www.stgeorgefh.ca)
