LONG, RUBY - The death of Ruby Dorothy Long, of Belleisle Creek, NB, wife of the late Roy Long, occurred at the Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex, NB, on Sunday, July 6, 2014, at age 93. Born in Belleisle Creek, NB on April 14, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Totton) Vail. Ruby is survived by her daughters; Ethel Cyr and her husband Ivan of Belleisle Creek, NB Donna Bodden of Whitby, ON, Sharon O’Connell and her husband Dennis of Oshawa, ON; son Reid Long and his wife Gladys of Belleisle Creek, NB; grandchildren Darcy, Robin, Kim, Shelly, Julia, Cindy; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister Laura Cyr; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Dave Bodden and her sister Grace Hourihan.
Ruby is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, where visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service, conducted by Rev. Preston Mowry, will be held from Hatfield Point Baptist Church at 11:00 am, on Saturday, July 12, 2014. Interment will take place in Union Cemetery, Belleisle Creek, NB. Donations to Union Cemetery or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
