It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, on Friday, July 11, 2014, in Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck.
Rose was a daughter of the late Eli and Amy (Baker) MacKay.
A homemaker all her life, she loved to bake, knit and enjoyed a good game of cards or checkers.
Rose was a devoted mother and grandmother, she will be missed by her children, Jean (Hector), Alfred (Maureen), Linda, Mary (Kevin) and Murdock; grandchildren, Carleton (Cynthia), Shannon (Arthur), Natalie, Fraser and Dylan; great-grandsons, Isaiah and Sam. Rose is also survived by her siblings, Johnny (Clemmie), Vicky, Sandy (Betty), Maude (Billy) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Donald; daughter, Anne; brothers, Angus, Neil Allan, Murdock, Alfred, Charlie, Gussie and sister, Eva.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today (Monday, July 14) in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. A family burial will take place on Tuesday, July 15 at 11 a.m. in Little Narrows Cemetery with Rev. Andrew MacDonald officiating.
Donations in Rose’s memory may be made to the Victoria County Hospice Society, Baddeck or Little Narrows Cemetery Fund.
