Peacefully at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, of Mary Rose (Rosie) McKenzie beloved wife of George McKenzie of Alberton and formally of St. Roch, age 84 years. Born on June 28,1924, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Annie (nee Perry) Richard. Loving mother to Richard (Gabriella) of Montreal and Laura (Sam) Steiman of Oakville, Ont. Cherished grandmother to Andrew, Alexander and Mark McKenzie and Joshua Steiman. Dear sister to Aubin (Jeanette) of St. Peter and St. Paul, Joseph (Gertie) of Montreal, Fred (Vaunda) of Brooklyn, Alma (Vincent) Doucette of Greenmount. Predeceased by sister Ida Gillis in 1974, Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Saturday morning Jan. 3, 2009, from St. Simon and St. Judes Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in the church cemetery.
