Roy Gabriel, age 82 of Amherst passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late George and Hazel (Willis) Gabriel.
Roy will be deeply missed by his children, Joanne (Rheal) Dionne, Barbara (Al) Abraham, Karen (Scott Johnson) Estabrooks, Roger Gabriel, and Wendy (Mario) Boudreau; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, John and Henry; sisters, Marjorie, Gladys, Pearl, Tina, and Francis; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Roy was predeceased by granddaughter, Tobi and great granddaughter, Tristen; sister, Dorothy; brothers, Garnet, Percy and Leonard.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (667-8777). A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 3 pm from the Furlong Jones Chapel. As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Roy may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
