Deanna Lynn MacInnis

Lieu de naissance : Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Date de naissance : 10 août 1965

Lieu de décès : North Vancouver, Colombie Britannique, Canada
Date de décès : 8 juillet 2014

Deanna Lynn MacInnis, of North Vancouver, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, surrounded by her family, at North Shore Hospice, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Aug. 10, 1965, in Toronto, Ont., the daughter of Wayne Lougheed and Greta Culliford.
Deanna graduated from high school in Thornhill, Ont., with the class of 1984. She began work with Canada Trust in 1988, where she quickly rose through the ranks to lead a team of Investment Managers. She decided to leave her successful career after her first son was born to focus on being the greatest mother to her three sons. Deanna was blessed to have found happiness with her soul mate and true love, Calvin MacInnis. They were united in marriage on July 6, 1996 in Richmond Hill, Ont. In 2004 they moved to North Vancouver with their two sons Noah and Aidan where a third son, Devin, was born. Nothing pleased Deanna more than spending time with her husband and three wonderful sons.
Deanna was a truly incredible person. She was loved by all that were fortunate enough to have known her. Travel was a passion of hers, and she visited much of the world. She took immense pleasure in music, dancing, singing, hiking, gardening and cooking for her boys. But above all things in her life, her greatest and dearest treasures were her family and friends. Deanna will always be remembered for her charming, outgoing personality, her easy laugh, vibrant smile and tremendous sense of humour. She always had something constructive to say and she could always bring a smile to your face.
Deanna was a tremendous giver of her time, heart, and soul, a defender and encourager of all. She had a natural gift to touch the hearts of all she met, lift up those that were down and make winners of us all. She never failed to help anyone who was in need. She spent time volunteering for many causes and was a regular at Carisbrooke Elementary School supporting the staff and children. She created the MacInnis Family Foundation in 2010 through which she anonymously funded numerous projects focused on helping sick children and single parents in need. She would be the one who would go the extra mile for you.
She is survived by her husband, Calvin MacInnis; three children, Noah, Aidan and Devin; her mother, Greta Culliford of Richmond Hill, Ont.; her Godmother, Lynne Meredith of Richmond Hill, Ont.; her father, Wayne Lougheed of Toronto, Ont.; her sister, Alanna Bray of Oakville, Ont.; and her two brothers, Wayne & Chase Lougheed of Toronto, Ont., as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in many heartfelt forms from too many people to name individually, but including: our neighbours who fed our family, friends and dog for months; Lions Gate Hospital & North Shore Hospice – especially the amazing teams on 6 East, 7 West, the Chemo Clinic; our family and friends who travelled from all parts of the world to support us: others who were there with us, either through prayer, kind words or visits; even random acts of kindness from total strangers.
Memorials may be made to Calvin MacInnis for the sole purpose of delivering on Deanna’s vision through her charity: MacInnis Family Foundation or directly to Colon Cancer Canada Research http://coloncancercanada.ca.
There will be a Celebration of Life in Toronto & North Vancouver in August for immediate family and close friends. Please call 905-492-1053 and ask for Debra for the details of the Toronto Celebration. The following inscription on the urn that Deanna’s earthly remains will be held within nicely sums up how fondly she will be remembered:
Our Angel that lived, laughed, and loved. Fly on little wing.
