Passed peacefully away at the age of 94 years at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony surrounded by family and friends, Mr. John Jacob Way (March 12, 1920 - June 30, 2014). He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his sister Edna Coles, the Way families and a large circle of other family and friends. John is predeceased by his wife Una Way (Chambers); his father Matthew Way; his mother Minnie Genge; brothers Roland, Stephen, Darius, George and George Jr.; sisters Virginia Gardiner, Jane Simms, Effie Arnold, Cecilia Boyd, Millie Genge, Dora Coles, and Laura. Visitation was held at St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Savage Cove from where the family service took place on Wednesday, July 2 at 8 p.m. The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 3 with Rev. Irving Letto officiating. Interment followed at the Savage Cove/Sandy Cove Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.
