CASSIDY, RITA - Rita Cassidy, 88, of Residence O’Bon Soins, Shediac, and formerly of St. Joseph Street, Shediac passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC. Born March 13, 1926 in Fitchburg MASS, she was the daughter of the late Hector and Marie-Blanche (Leger) Dollard. She enjoyed art, sewing, dancing and loved her family dearly. She will be sadly missed by two daughters: Thérèse Gagnon (Norm) of Shediac and Maria Léger (Marcel) of Grand-Barachois; three sons: Roland (Pat) of Kitchener, ON, Ben (Rina) and Aurel "Ork" (Joanne) of Shediac; one half-brother, Paul Dollard (Irene) of Marlboro, MASS; one sister in-law, Rita of Shediac; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Léonce Cassidy (2008); three sisters: Yvonne, Eva and Anita; five brothers: Antoine, Albert, Abel, Gerard and Henry; one daughter in-law, Ruth; one grandson, Patrick (2010).
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297) on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in the St-Joseph parish cemetery. In memory of Rita, a contribution to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC (cardiology) or to the Vestiaire St. Joseph – Food Bank would be appreciated.
