FRENETTE-BABINEAU, EMELIA - Emelia Frenette-Babineau, 95, of Shediac and formerly of Grande-Digue, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC. Born September 23, 1918 in Petit-Rocher, she was the daughter of the late Félicien and Georgina (Roy) LeBlanc. A hairdresser salon for more than 10 years before retiring, Emelia was a former member of "Les Dames Chrétiennes" and the Golden Age Club in Grande-Digue. She was an avid bowler and volunteered for “Notre Centre” in Grande-Digue. She will be sadly missed by her two daughters: Yolande Essiembre of Shediac and Jeannine Babineau (Paul) of Grande-Digue; one son, Roger Frenette (Anita) of Moncton; four step-sons: Roger (Bernice), Bernard (Thérèse), Paul (Jeannine) and Jean-Marie (Joanne) all of Grande-Digue; one sister, Lorraine Goguen of Shippagan; 13 grandchildren: Lise, Julie, Paul, Danielle, Natalie, Janelle, Mélanie, Mario, André, Nadine, Lisa, Martin and Michel; 11 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Hector Frenette (1957); second husband, Gérard Babineau (2005); seven sisters: Eugénie, Louise, Blanche, Alice, Léonie, Germance and Anita; three brothers: Philippe, Adrien and Richard.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297) on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at La Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Grande-Digue on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the St-Joseph parish cemetery. In memory of Emelia, a contribution to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick and CHU Dumont Foundation would be appreciated.
