KEENAN, GERARD WARREN - 1927 - 2014 - Keenan, Gerard Warren, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Halifax, on July 24, 2014, at the age of 86. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Patrick James Keenan and the late Janie Warren. Gerard was the last surviving member of his immediate family and is survived by his many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers; James, Vincent, Charlie, Bernard, and Johnny, nephew’s; Patrick, Michael, and Pat Keenan.
Funeral services will be held at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 2:00pm. A reception will follow the service. Gerard retired as a Major from the Royal Canadian Air Force, then worked for ten year as a Commissionaire at the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission. The family would like to thank the staff at Northwood Manor for their care of our Uncle. Interment will be at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Flowers gratefully declined in favor of donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
